A profile is a personal and public web space to publish and update the business information that you want business people to know about you and your organisation. It gives you a really simple and free way to add and up-date your place in a directory of SMME industry people. Your profile connects you to searches for the skills, services and products that people are looking for.

Can I also create a profile for my organisation?

Yes. Once you have created a personal profile, you may create a detailed corporate profile under the "Websites" tab by clicking the "+Add" button.

How do I change My Profile?

The information you select or provide in your sign-up form gets automatically published to your profile exactly as you selected or typed it. To update and change your profile data, click ‘My Profile’ on the site's navigation bar and select ‘Settings’ on the page. Add or change data and then Save!

Who will look for me on MyGenius and how do I get found here?

The profile information you upload to your profile gets used by the site's search engine [and internet and social search engines] to find you and the skills, products and services you supply. Take care to select and provide information in your profile that describes your functions, products and services accurately, fully and professionally.

Your profile gets viewed by the member network when members browse through the member directory or you’ll get found by searches that use the fields or words you’ve selected in your profile.

How do I add or change a picture to my profile?

To upload a picture or an image to your profile or to change it: Click ‘My Profile’ and then ‘Settings’ on your profile page. Browse your picture in here and save it!

About that picture!

The image you choose is a message in itself. Because this is a business network for SMME's you may want to select a photo or logo that conveys the business image you want to project. 

Think about adding your company logo and your title to your picture before you browse it in to expose your brand and function more widely. Remember your ‘avatar’ appears on all your posts and comments so by adding a logo and some key information to your image, you’ll get far more exposure and publicity on the network!

How do I get noticed more on this Network?

The data and words that you use in your profile get automatically indexed by the site's search engine and by search engines like Google and social search engines like Facebook. To ensure that you get connected to work, opportunities and enquiries, make sure that your profile is as complete and up-to-date as it can be.

As you publish or update your profile, you’ll get featured on the home page. Use the ‘About’ text box in your profile to add more useful information about your industry role, your skills and experience, credentials, products and services you supply and the market areas that you operate in. [Don’t forget to think market segments as well as regions here!]
